Things Unseen - Lizzie Kate - 27.06.16

I started this project during Stitch Maynia this is what it will look like completed.

This is where I left it after one days stitching.

I have now completed part one and this is where it's up to now.  I am stitching this on a piece of 28 count Jazlyn in Just Peachy from Crafty Kitten 2 over 2 full crosses with the charted Weeks Dye Works threads.

The Towpath by Gillian Mowbray - Gecko Rouge - 19.06.16

I have long admired the designs from Gecko Rouge but have always been waiting for the perfect design before purchasing one.  As soon as I saw The Towpath by Gillian Mowbray I knew it had to be mine.  The barge on the canal reminded me of family holidays from my childhood and the colours just called to me.

So in January of this year I set up a layaway over 6 months and each month paid a reasonable amount towards this amazing kit.  After sending my final payment I contacted Gecko Rouge and asked them to not send my kit out as I was due to go on holiday and my postman has a habit of putting things in our wheelie bin if there is no one home.  There was no way I wanted this kit sitting in a bin for a week while I was away.  The day before I returned I contacted them and they sent out my kit the next day and it arrived perfectly on the Saturday.

I made a start on this project as soon as I could.  I managed to complete the first column on page 1.  Bearing in mind the first column is only 3 stitches wide.  I think in this small block I used 30 of the 90 colours.

This is definitely a long long term project but I am looking forward to working on it and seeing it grow.

The next project I am working on is a new SAL from KLT Charting.  It's a Mystery Frog SAL and once again I am happy to say I am stitching the model for it.  The first part is released on 6th July and if you're interested in joining in you can do so here.

Owl SAL - KLT Charting - Owl 12 of 12 - FINISH 21 of 2016

So it's time for the last part of the Owl SAL for KLT Charting.  I will admit I am very sad to have finished this design and not have these gorgeous owls to stitch any more.  I am stitching it on an 18 count hand dyed aida from KLT Charting called Dryad Dwelling.  I've decided to count each individual owl as a mini finish for the year so this one is my twenty first finish for 2016.

I am pleased to say however that there is going to be a new KLT SAL this time with frogs instead of owls.  If you're interested you can sign up here.  The first part will be released on 6th July and then fortnightly after that.  Guess what - I'm stitching the model for this one as well so I will look forward to sharing my progress with you all.

As there are 12 owls I decided to stitch each one in a colour that I feel relates to a month of the year.  So owl twelve represents December to me and is stitched in Oh Christmas Tree.

So here is owl number 12:

Stargazer - Mirabilia - 14.06.16

You may remember the last time I worked on Stargazer I had started stitching the hands over one.  When I was due to start the project again I really didn't want to go back to it and I realised it was due to the over one skin.

I decided to start working on the skirt instead of going back to the over one skin.  After a lot of thought I decided to unpick the over one I had done and just go with everything stitched over 2.  Well after 4 hours of unpicking it was finally done and I got back to stitching it over 2.  I feel so much more comfortable with the project now and am enjoying it once again.  Here's my before and after pictures from working on it for the last few days.

I love how this design is coming together on the fabric.  It's called Regal Peacock and it's from Jodyri Designs.

My next project to work on is the Halloween Mystery SAL from Jodyri Designs which I won't be able to show until it's released.  Not sure what's coming up after that yet.

Learning Sampler - Northern Expressions Needlework - 10.06.16

I had a lovely week away last week with my family in Wales and managed to get quite a bit of stitchy time.

I spent some of the time working on the Halloween SAL model for Jodyri Designs which unfortunately I can't show you yet and the rest of the time I worked on the Learning Sampler.

I was working across bands 8, 9 and 10 and completed all of part 10.  I am really pleased with how this is progressing and really enjoying stitching on it.

Here's a close up of bands 8, 9 and the completed band 10.

And the whole project as it stands:

I'm going to go back to working on Stargazer next.

Halloween Mystery SAL - Jodyri Designs - Part 2

I was again lucky enough to be asked to model stitch the Halloween mystery SAL for Jodyri Designs.  Being asked to model stitch means I also get to see the whole chart before the participants and I have to stitch each section before it is released to the participants.

I have permission to release my pictures of each part of the design as they are released to the participants of the SAL.

I am stitching my design on 28 count Brittney in Toxic Potion with the letters stitched in Witches Brew and the motifs in Nevermore.  The fabric and threads are all available from Jodyri Designs.

Here is part 2 of the SAL:-

Ghosts, Goblins, Spooks galore.  Scary Witches at your door
Since completing this section I have gone back and outlined one side of the letters with one strand of Nevermore to make them more visible.

I've outlined the ghost and the bat and filled in the ghosts eyes and mouth with a Rainbow Gallery glow in the dark thread.  Unfortunately at the moment it doesn't show up or glow so until I can see a difference I don't think I will be adding any more of the glow in the dark thread.

Pumpkin Passport - Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery - Part 6 of 12

In June the Pumpkin Passport travelled to Russia.  Again I did not add the snowflakes in the sky as it wouldn't show up on my fabric.

And the whole project to date.

Needleworker - Little House Needleworks - 02.06.16

I have always liked the chart Needleworker from Little House Needleworks so when I saw that one of the shops I buy cross stitch supplies from was having a stitch a long for this pattern for their one year anniversary I decided I would finally buy it.

The SAL started on 1st June and this was my progress on day 1

and day 2 progress

I am going to be adding this to my rotation and will stitch on it on the 1st and 2nd of each month.

Owl SAL - KLT Charting - Owl 11 of 12 - FINISH 20 of 2016 - 01.06.16

So it's time for the next part of the Owl SAL for KLT Charting.  I am stitching it on an 18 count hand dyed aida from KLT Charting called Dryad Dwelling.  I've decided to count each individual owl as a mini finish for the year so this one is my twentieth finish for 2016.

As there are 12 owls I decided to stitch each one in a colour that I feel relates to a month of the year.  So owl eleven represents November to me and is stitched in Dragon's Flame.

So here is owl number 11:

And all the owls so far:

I will be sad when the last one is finished.  I have really enjoyed this project.
