If you haven't heard of Maynia before please see my post from 1st May - don't want to repeat myself everyday and bore everyone..

My day 6 project is called Christmas Elegance by Just Nan.

This is a picture of the chart:-

I am stitching this on 28 count Jazlyn from Crafty Kitten in the December 2011 Limited Edition.  I am stitching over 2 in the DMC conversion.

Here's the picture of the progress I made today:

Stitch Maynia 2016 - Day 5 - Bauble Cushion - Ultimate Christmas Magazine

If you haven't heard of Maynia before please see my post from 1st May - don't want to repeat myself everyday and bore everyone..

My day 5 project is called Bauble Cushion and it was in the Ultimate Christmas Magazine.

This is a picture of the chart:-

I had originally planned to stitch this on 20 count white aida but I didn't like the coverage so I switched to a 32 count murano in blue grey.  I am stitching 2 over 1 full crosses.  Having looked more closely at the pattern I am glad I switched to the evenweave as it has a lot of quarter stitches in it and they would have been a nightmare to do on 20 count over 1.

Here's the picture of the progress I made today - the most boring update picture so far as it's only border:

Stitch Maynia 2016 - Day 4 - C3P0 - StitchLine - 04.05.16

My day 4 project is called C3P0 and from a company called StitchLine.  I also have Darth Vader and the Storm Trooper to stitch.

This is a picture of all three of the charts:-

I am stitching this on 28 count white Brittany.  I am stitching 2 over 2 full crosses.

Here's the picture of the progress I made today:

Owl SAL - KLT Charting - Owl 9 of 12 - FINISH 16 of 2016

So it's time for the next part of the Owl SAL for KLT Charting.  I am stitching it on an 18 count hand dyed aida from KLT Charting called Dryad Dwelling.  I've decided to count each individual owl as a mini finish for the year so this one is my sixteenth finish for 2016.

As there are 12 owls I decided to stitch each one in a colour that I feel relates to a month of the year.  So owl nine represents September to me and is stitched in Wooded Glade.

So here is owl number 9:

Stitch Maynia 2016 - Day 3 - Bookworm Fairy Mini - Heaven and Earth Designs - 03.05.16

If you haven't heard of Maynia before please see my post from 1st May - don't want to repeat myself everyday and bore everyone.

My day 3 project is called Bookworm Fairy and it is a picture by Hannah Lynn and was charted by Heaven and Earth Designs.

This is a picture of the chart:-

I am stitching this on 18 count Magic Guide from DMC.  It's the first time I've used a pre-gridded fabric and I am really enjoying stitching on it.  I am stitching 2 over 1 full crosses.

I managed to do a little over 500 stitches today in 8 shades of blue (I did have the day off work so had a few hours to stitch!) and here's the picture of the progress I made today:

Stitch Maynia 2016 - Day 2 - Fragile Landing by KLT Charting - 02.05.16

If you haven't heard of Maynia before please see my post from 1st May - don't want to repeat myself everyday and bore everyone.

My day 2 project is called Fragile Landing and it was charted by Kim at KLT Charting - unfortunately this chart is no longer available but she has loads more gorgeous charts so go and have a look.  She also sells hand dyed fabric and DMC threads at a very reasonable price and she has excellent customer service.

This is a picture of the chart:-

I am stitching this on a 28 count Ice Dyed opalescent from Jodyri Designs.  It took a long while for me to find a project I wanted to stitch on this gorgeous project but I thought this one was perfect as the fabric will show through in the "holes".  I am stitching 2 over 2 full crosses.  I decided to do the outline in DMC 310 and I am stitching the Dragonfly in a hand dyed floss from Crafty Kitten called Aurora.

Here's the picture of the progress I made today:

Stitch Maynia 2016 - Day 1 - Research Project by Charting Creations - 01.05.16

If you haven't heard of Maynia before it is a phenomenon that I believe started last year.  The idea is 15 starts for the first 15 days of May.  A Facebook group was formed for last years Maynia and it is one of the friendliest stitching groups I have ever been in on Facebook.

So I thought I would join in this year because who doesn't want to have 15 new starts - although I have decided to go with 16 as it's 2016 this year.

My day 1 project is called Research Project by Theresa Mather and it is charted by Charting Creations.

This is what it will look like about 100 years from now!

And this is where I have got to with it today.  I am stitching it on 20 count white aida and doing 3 over 1 tent stitch.  I managed to get in over 600 stitches today and I'm very pleased with my progress - or I was until I looked at how small amount I had done compared to the size of the fabric!

It will now go into my rotation pile and hopefully get stitched on again in the not too distant future!  Come back tomorrow and see what my next project is.

In Our House - Love Thy Thread - 30.04.16

I've spent the past couple of days working on In Our House.

I am stiching this on 22 count Oslo in Nebula from Crafty Kitten using DMC 4025 in tent stitch 3 over 1.

Here's the picture of where I finished it last time:

This is where I am up to now:

So tomorrow starts the beginning of Stitch Maynia - 16 new starts in 16 days.  I have all my projects kitted and ready to go and I'm super excited.  I hope you will enjoy my journey over the next 16 days.

Owl SAL - KLT Charting - Owl 8 of 12 - FINISH 15 of 2016

So it's time for the next part of the Owl SAL for KLT Charting.  I am stitching it on an 18 count hand dyed aida from KLT Charting called Dryad Dwelling.  I've decided to count each individual owl as a mini finish for the year so this one is my fourteenth finish for 2016.

As there are 12 owls I decided to stitch each one in a colour that I feel relates to a month of the year.  So owl eight represents August to me and is stitched in Peacock Feathers.

So here is owl number 8:

February & March - Sand, Sea & Cross Stitch - 17.04.16

It was my original intention to stitch one of this blocks each month but I got a bit carried away and got three done this month.

As I said in my previous post the design is charted for DMC but I decided to switch out some of the colours for other threads I have in my stash.  The solid border is stitched in Pushkina from Fiberlicious, the inner dotted border is stitched in Lemon & Lime from Dinky Dyes, the month is stitched in Spring Crocus from Crafty Kitten, the red is Terracotta from Dinky Dyes and the yellow Nullabor from Dinky Dyes.   I added an additional colour in the sail of the boat for February and this was another thread from Crafty Kitten - August 2013 Limited Edition.  Everything else I have stitched in the recommended DMC.

Hoping in May I can get the next three months done but will see what happens.

Jodyri Christmas Mystery SAL 2016 - Part 2

I was lucky enough to be asked again to stitch the model for a Joydri mystery SAL. This time the theme is Christmas.

The design is being released in three parts and this is the second part.

I am stitching it on 18 count cream aida.  The design is charted in Jodyri threads but unfortunately I didn't have the recommended thread for the star so I subbed it with another Jodyri thread St Clements.

The other threads you can see in part 1 are the recommended Jodyri threads - Emerald Forest and Ruby Slippers.  Can't wait to stitch the next part.

January - Sand, Sea & Cross Stitch - 11.04.16

For Mother's Day this year my little boy bought me this book - Sand Sea & Cross Stitch.

It has so many charts in it that I would love to stitch.  I love the Sea and the Seaside so this book was perfect for me.

The first design I decided to stitch is the months of the year.  I am stitching them on one piece of fabric and will hopefully make it in to a wall hanging when it is completed.  Here is the first month I completed January.

The design is charted for DMC but I decided to switch out some of the colours for other threads I have in my stash. Everything else I have stitched in the recommended DMC.

I'm really enjoying stitching this and the fact that it was a Mother's Day present makes it that little bit more special.

Owl SAL - KLT Charting - Owl 7 of 12 - FINISH 14 of 2016

So it's time for the next part of the Owl SAL for KLT Charting.  I am stitching it on an 18 count hand dyed aida from KLT Charting called Dryad Dwelling.  I've decided to count each individual owl as a mini finish for the year so this one is my thirteenth finish for 2016.

As there are 12 owls I decided to stitch each one in a colour that I feel relates to a month of the year.  So owl seven represents July to me and is stitched in The Sunshine State.

So here is owl number 7:

Pumpkin Passport - Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery - Part 4 of 12 - FINISH 13 of 2016

The fourth part of the Pumpkin Passport mystery SAL was released on 1st April.  This month we travelled to Switzerland.  My fabric choice didn't work very well with this months design as the snowy mountain just blended in.  I therefore back stitched it with a pale tan colour just to help it stand out a little.  I also didn't stitch the snow in the sky as I knew it wouldn't show up at all.

I love the little sheep on the top of the mountain and the swan on the lake it's amazing how with a very few stitches you can make a recognisable animal shape.

Here's the pictures:-

I'm looking forward to see where we travel next month.

Seaside Mystery - Chatelaine - 02.04.16

I have been working on Seaside Mystery and completed parts 1 - 3.  I have also started working on the other parts in one corner.  The over one stitching of the letters in the middle had been putting me off for so long but when I finally stuck to doing them they went really quickly.  It did make the over two crosses seem ridiculously large though after doing the over one.  Part of me regrets that I haven't stitched on this in such a long time but another part of me thinks that at least spending such a long time stitching on it justifies the cost in some way.  I think when I come back to working on this I will work each corner in it's entirety.  I cannot wait to see how it looks.

It's stitched on Crafty Kittens Sunlit Water 32 count Jobelan.

The next part of the Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery Pumpkin Passport came out today so I am going to rotate onto stitching that next.

Owl SAL - KLT Charting - Owl 6 of 12 - FINISH 12 of 2016

So it's time for the next part of the Owl SAL for KLT Charting.  I am stitching it on an 18 count hand dyed aida from KLT Charting called Dryad Dwelling.  I've decided to count each individual owl as a mini finish for the year so this one is my tenth finish for 2016.

As there are 12 owls I decided to stitch each one in a colour that I feel relates to a month of the year.  Unfortunately the colour I had picked out for June didn't show up on my fabric so I had to switch to a different colour I chose Indian Ringneck.  I have to say this little owl caused me some real problems - first I stitched over half the outline and realised I had stitched it one column over from where it should have been so had to unpick it.  Then I started the blackwork and realised that the thread I had chosen didn't show up against the fabric so I had to unpick that - which as I couldn't really see the thread against the fabric was very difficult!  But now he's completed I love him and am thinking about doing some more blackwork as I really enjoyed it.

So here is owl number 6:

Christmas Tree Farm - Country Cottage Needleworks - 18.03.16 - FINISH 10 of 2016

I am stitching the Santa's Village series from Country Cottage Needleworks as individual ornaments.  I am planning to hang them like bunting over the festive season.

This is the second one I have stitched and is called Christmas Tree Farm.  I used all the recommended threads.

I am stitching them on 20 count aida in Nougat.
